There we were in the driveway. The car turned off, but the kids wouldn't budge. They didn't realize we could take our new Charlie Hope CD with us into the house, so they weren't going anywhere.
This was my experience on day one after receiving the first shipment of the newly released "I'm Me!" CDs by Charlie Hope.
After assuring them the music could follow us into the house, my two children hurriedly released their seatbelts and bolted for the front door. We listened to the music over dinner, and danced together in the kitchen afterwards.
The CD is a collection of original songs, along with some traditional songs adaptd by Charlie. Some are simple A capella songs, while others are fast, flowing songs with full background music. (listen here)
The children especially like the Frog Song where Charlie seems to get confused about what frogs eat. One song that has become known among CPSIA Youtube videos is "Mr. Sun". I think you will find Charlies songs both fun and easy to listen to---over and over again. Charlie's music strikes a wonderful balance in its lyric, melody, and tempo to be appealing to children and adults alike.
So you have listened to a few songs and like what you hear? You would like to have a SIGNED first release CD of your very own? Here are three ways to win:
1. Leave a comment--tell us what you like about Charlie's songs. We will pick a lucky winner at random from among those that make a comment on this post (about her music) between now and July 1st. (If your comment is particularly thoughtful and you are not the winner, we reserve the right to send you a CD too.)
2. Tweet about Charlie Hope. Tell others on Twitter what you like about her songs. We will be scouring twitter for references to Charlie Hope. We will be looking for the most active twitter fans and rewarding you with a signed CD. This one is ongoing, and we may give out multiple CDs.
3. Become a fan of Charlie Hope on Facebook for another chance to win. We will give away a signed CD to a lucky fan on July 1st.
If you are a blogger, and want to review her CD on your site, please let us know!
Good luck, and good night...oh, that reminds me...watch for her Lullaby CD coming out in July!
I love that Charlie's songs speak to children on their own level. They aren't condescending. That and they're engaging to children. I played some of the songs on her MySpace page for my children yesterday and they completely forgot that they had asked to watch a video. That's powerful!

When adults like to listen to the same songs as the kids... you know you have a good thing!
